No. We offer free ballpark estimates from photos, and then a detailed written proposal after an in-home visit if you’d like to move forward.
What areas do you serve?
We primarily serve Grand Rapids and surrounding West Michigan communities within about 30 miles, including Jenison, Hudsonville, Zeeland, Holland, Ada, Rockford, and more.
Do you use regular wall paint on cabinets?
No. We use a 2K cabinet coatings system designed specifically for kitchen cabinets, applied in a spray booth and oven for doors/drawers and a matched system for frames in your home.
How long does a typical cabinet project take?
Most projects take about one to two weeks of active work, depending on the size and scope of your kitchen. We’ll give you a more specific timeline with your estimate.

Highly recommend! Shelly refinished a small table for me years ago so I requested a quote when considering painting our kitchen cabinets. Of 4 quotes, hers was actually one of the lowest. Which was suprising because of their unique method. We are so pleased with the results. We had some built ins finished recently by another company and the results don’t even compare. Not even close. Shelly, Hannah, Lizza, Jason, and the entire team we worked with were fantastic. Professional, knowledgeable, thorough, respectful… and their work, impeccable. Our kitchen feels brand new and the quality is just outstanding.

We had Shelly's re-door our kitchen & 1/2 bath, and paint the kitchen and all bathroom cabinets. Their customer service is exemplary. Everything ran very smoothly, and the communication was on point. We went with them because we liked the fact that the cabinet doors were run through an oven to bake in the paint. I'm a very messy cook, and love the idea of being able to wipe down cabinets quickly, and have the reassurance that the paint isn't going to wear fast. Everything looks so beautiful. My new condo came with early 2K blond oak cabinetry in both the kitchen and bathrooms. Ugh! Refinishing to a darker wood tone was nullified by an expert who pointed out the difficulties of getting a consistent wood grain finish. He suggested that I paint them. Sure, I know how topaint stuff. But, after reading many many Internet horror stories of DIY paint projects, I looked for a professional painter with experience and a history of success. Bam! Shelly's Kitchens & Designs are amazing. It started with me sending them a few photos and a description of what I would like done and I was quickly sent an estimate. Shelly came to our house for measurements and to discuss details. She provided us a color consult and had a variety of hardware for us to choose from. I was provided a timeline with details on what I should expect throughout the process. Liza painted everything but the cabinet doors that were painted at Shelly's. Liza provided exceptional quality work. I highly recommend Shelly's Kitchens & Designs.

Shelly's Kitchens & Design does excellent work - it is very obvious that the entire team takes pride in their workmanship! Several employees, including the owner, were involved in the prep and repainting of our master bathroom cabinet doors & drawer fronts that had discolored over time - the color matches to the base cabinet beautifully! Also our new built-in bench seat area in the hallway was beautifully prepped and painted and also the remodeled kitchen island color change we chose. The paint products they use are very durable - way more than standard off the shelf products. We highly recommend Shelly's Kitchens & Design team located in Jenison to anyone that is searching for paint excellence!
